Mac Spirit Lipstick

Hi girlies,

So I, like every other hot blooded female, went into Mac recently hoping that my local store would be one of the very few that had the infamous 'Velvet Teddy' shade that will turn us all into Kylie Jenner by applying a swoop of it onto our lips. Of course, it was sold out and will be for months. However the assistant did introudce me to my new love...
Meet the satin finish beaut that is, Spirit.

I knew I wanted a brown warm toned shade if Velvet Teddy was sold out and when she pointed me towards this one it was love at first sight. This might sound dramatic but come on girls it's a Mac lipstick, it happens! She paired it with both Stone and Chestnut lip pencils and I went for Stone, which to be honest I kind of regret but hey, it's an excuse to go back and purchase Chestnut!
The lasting power of this lipstick is one of the best I've tried and the colour stays true all day which is something that can't be said for other Mac shades I've tried such as Rebel and Cyber.

I feel this is the perfect 90's throwback shade and if you like me, were too young and missed out on the makeup looks of the 90's, how lucky are we that we get to recreate them 10 years later! Due to the satin finish of this product it doesn't dry out my lips in the slightest, however I would recommend applying some lip conditioner before hand as it can show up any dry patches and let's face it, that just isn't pretty!

As always, this lippy was €18.50 and if you purchase don't forget to keep the packaging for back to mac!

Until next time girlies, LolaRose xx

My go-to winter nail polishes

Hi girlies,

I'm finally back, you know what us bloggers are like for an odd blogging hiatus but I'm back and with an over-flowing notebook of fab 'blogable' products and pictures for you all!
I've decided to share with you my 'go to colours' for my talons this Christmas season, (it's post Halloween, we are allowed to say it's technically Christmas, right?)

For me, topping up your nail colour to a fab festive colour is the perfect way to ease yourself into Christmas mode without pulling out the Christmas jumper and Santa hat!

First up is OPI with a nice rich purple shade 'Push & Pur-Pull' (I'm a sucker for nail polish names seriously, whoever gets to choose them has the best job in the world!) This shade proves you don't have to be typical when choosing your Christmas nails and any deep rich colour can have you feeling suitably festive!

Next up is the shade S340 by Hairspray which is a beautiful glossy red shade that will have Santa himself jealous of your glowing talons! This is the perfect choice for those of us who feel it isn't Christmas unless you are donning at least something bright red and best of all, one coat and your good to go.

There's something about gold which always reminds me of Christmas and this Gold Coin shade from Revlon is perfect. This is one of the few gold polishes I have which actually isn't a sparkly top coat, this is a stand alone gold paint which looks great paired on the ring finger as an accent colour.

w7 are great for cheap and cheerful nail polishes and this silver glitter over coat in the colour Silver Dazzle is no different. Let's face it, if you can't get away with being covered in glitter without being judged at Christmas then you never can!

Every year I treat myself to an OPI polish from their Christmas collection and this year I have a feeling I will be stocking up on a lot more than just one as there collection is better than ever! This time round I have bought ' Just BeClause', now if that name alone doesn't get you humming Christmas carols nothing will! This deep plum colour compliments all skin tones and is a perfect elegant festive shade.

Finally the most gorgeous green shade that always reminds me of the film Elf! This unfortunately has no name or shade number but it is by Colour Club polishes and is perfect for those who aren't afraid of a bit of colour this season!

And that's it for now! I'll be back very soon with no doubt copious more Christmas related posts!

National Television Awards - My Red Carpet Winners and Losers !

Hi girlies,

I actually haven't done a post like this in quite a while, however, when I seen a range of both amazing and let's just say some not so amazing gowns on the red carpet last night I knew this deserved a place on the blog!
If I'm honest, I don't like criticising people too much on their clothing, as I am all for personal style and my red carpet winners may be in someone else's sin bin, but that's the fun in having an opinion!

Let's start off on a positive note with those who stole the show for me;

Abbey Clancy -
Abbey Clancy, for me, rarely does wrong when on the red carpet and last night was no different. Her racer front dress, was simplistic yet striking and her slit was just the right amount of daring, however, this was an element which too many of her fellow TV stars seemed to forget! Usually I prefer when people don't wear red on a red carpet, for obvious reasons, however, let's face it, it's Abbey Clancy, she could wear the red carpet and she'd still feature in the best dressed list!!
Michelle Keegan -

Does this look familiar to anyone ? I was shocked at how alike Abbey Clancy's dress was to Michelle Keegan's with their figure hugging, racer front gowns! Michelle went for an on trend pastel mint with a fish tail bottom and as always, had the country falling at her feet! Will she ever have an off day ?!
Fearne Cotton -
If I'm honest, as much of a fashion icon as Fearne is, I rarely understand her style however when she stepped out in this white and silver lace detailed number,j'ai compris !! She looked absolutely beautiful and I love how she kept her hair from looking too 'over done', as she could have very easily turned into a middle aged bride! Fab from Fearne!
Caroline Flack -
Caroline donned shorts and a blazer for this year's NTA's which is a common look for her, yet one she works so well, I mean look at those pins! The touch of hologram in her heels against the crisp white made for a classy, fashionable look. Thumbs up from me!

Tess Daly -
This, my friends, is how to do the androgynous look. The usually girly and feminine Tess looked amazing in this jumpsuit paired with a blazer over the shoulder for an amazingly chic look. Pairing this with a red lip and loose curl, made her one of my personal favourites on the night.
Georgia Foote -
When this dress came up on my Twitter newsfeed last night, I presumed I had misread it and that it was from department king Selfridges, however when I rechecked to find it was indeed from Miss Selfridges, I was blown away! This gown looks like it could easily pass for a Jenny Packham however us mere mortals can get our hands on this dazzler in store from March! I can sense a queue forming!!
And now onto those who failed to make the cut !
Amy Willerton -
Usually, I love Amy Willerton's style and the fact she carries her pageant queen look where ever she goes, however this dress just didn't do it for me! I love the top of it, however I feel when the diamonds meet the tulle bottom it screams tacky. Sorry Amy!
Kelly Brooke -
Oh Kelly! I honestly don't know where to start here, the slit, the v neck, those shoes. This is the perfect example of leaving far too little to the imagination! Let's just say I hope she's had a bikini wax!!
Pixie Lott -
Here is another example of a sky high split gone wrong! I love the boho feel of the plunge neckline, paired with a long pendant and long sleeves, but I have no idea where the blue material is coming from! So close, but yet so far!
Laura Whitmore -

It is a rare occasion that Laura Whitmore features in anything negative on my blog, however I cannot understand this dress at all! There is just too much going on and I'm still trying to figure out where that checked material is coming from!
And there you have it folks, my winners and losers from the NTA red carpet!
Who was your favourites on the night?
And who left you with your mouth open, for all the wrong reasons?!

Skincare Routine - Byphasse Cleansing Milk Review

Hi girlies,

I'm back with a follow up to my Clarins Energizer range review which you can read HERE and now I am going to share with you my favourite cleanser of the moment.

If I'm honest, as I said in my previous skincare post this year I am forcing myself to have a 'proper' skincare routine and this product was quite an impulse buy when I seen it in Mc Cabe's pharmacy for only €3.99 and I had actually watched a video by the lovely BlushBlendBeauty on YouTube recommending this cleanser, I decided this would join my routine!

I have tried cleansers in the past and I'm always amazed at how 'unclean' your face actually is after removing your makeup, which is only proven when you use your cleanser! This one in particular removes even the most stubborn mascara residue which is one of the main reasons I'm such a fan.

I am often weary of trying out new lotions and potions for my skin as I have really dry and sensitive skin, lucky me eh? But this was a pleasant surprize as it didn't aggravate my skin in any way, shape, or form! I find it really hydrates my skin as it is a cleansing milk and it isn't overly fragranced. I actually hadn't been aware of this brand until I heard BlushBlendBeauty speak of it and until I found an entire aisle dedicated to it in my local Mc Cabe's pharmacy! Byphasse actually have everything from cotton pads to shampoo and conditioner all in mahoosive sized 500ml containers for amazingly low prices.

I will definitely be trying the shampoo and conditioner from this range after this successful buy and I completely recommend getting your hands on this if you can!

You can purchase this cleansing milk online at Mc Cabes pharmacy online  HERE

Have you tried any new brands of late?

How to style a jumpsuit - giveaway winner announced

Hi girlies,

As many of you will know or perhaps feel, today is known as 'Blue Monday' and I know I'm certainly feeling the strain, so I decided to blog about very fitting blue jumpsuit from and how I style it in 3 different ways. Oh and I will also be sharing with you the lucky winner of the £50 to spend at at the end of this post!

Onto the looks;

1. Colour block with accessories

For this look I paired the jumpsuit with an extravagant statement necklace from Dorothy Perkins. The mix of colours in this necklace is a nod to the colour block trend without looking like you've just rolled out of a packet of skittles! I brought out the gold in the necklace as I didn't want too much of a contrast from the blue of the jumpsuit and I always find that pairing gold with blue creates a more expensive feel. You can easily recreate this look with statement necklaces from Zara, Primark or River Island.

2. Keep it simple!

Often jumpsuits are a statement on their own, so why not let the jumpsuit do the talking and simply pair it with a jewel toned clutch and killer heels.
3. Belt it up

There is often a fear that pairing a jumpsuit with a belt can make you look like you just stepped off the stage of Saturday Night Fever, however if done right, it can be the perfect accessory to dress up your jumpsuit. This particular lion head belt was purchased abroad however, statement belts are easily found on the high street and on
And there you have it folks, styling a jumpsuit has never been easier! This particular jumpsuit can be found ON SALE here on so if I where you I'd hot step to get this bargain.

And onto the giveaway winner, the lucky winner of £50 to spend is

Skincare routine - Clarins Daily Energizer Range

Hi girlies,

I often get asked about my skincare routine and I decided to share with you my 'go to' products for keeping those pesky blemishes at bay. My main new year's resolution, other than blogging more, is to
follow a daily skincare routine as best as I possibly can, as believe it or not I've never had one, what sort of beauty blogger am I!

I have the most sensitive skin there possibly is, and so highly fragranced lotions and potions never really mix well with my skin. However, when I finally tried my Clarins products, which were sitting in my drawer for over a year *slap to the wrists*, I was surprized at the fact that my skin actually accepted these fruity products.

As Clarins is such a major brand I won't go too much into the brand itself, however, as there are so many different ranges of Clarins products, I will review the Daily Energizer range in depth, as it works so well for me and my sensitive, dry skin it may just work for you too!

This range is a first for Clarins, who have only recently set out to create skincare focusing on the 18-25 year old market, in essence, they plan on focusing on the skin damage that fatigue, hangovers and bad eating habits does and what we can do to help cure and prevent further damage to our skin.
In a nutshell the Daily Energizer range is all about doing what it says on the tin, energizing the skin! My nanny always said to me, "nothing wakes you up better than washing your face with cold water in the mornings", however I think cold water may have just found its match!
This particular range is filled with vitamin C and a cocktail of other energising and brightening products to help make the skin look and feel fresher and healthier.
Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel - when using this gel, I place a pea sized amount onto my damp cleanse off mitt  see review HERE and work it into the skin. The tiniest amount lathers nicely and removes makeup with ease. There is an orange zesty scent to this gel, along with the cream and the booster. This doesn't make your face feel tight but rather fresh and awake. The beauty of this product is that is will last ages, I can honestly see my still using this same tube 4/5 months later as you really do only need the smallest drop.

The cleansing gel can be purchased in Boots, Arnotts or Debenhams for €13.25 for 75ml ( price)

Daily Energizer Wake Up Booster - basically this is a toner which gives your skin the most amazing awake and fresh feeling. I can honestly say I have never used anything which has given my skin this feeling before. It's hard to describe, it closes pores yet doesn't leave the skin tight and uncomfortable like most toners and it certainly wakens you up! It feels cooling on the skin and almost gives the feeling that it is impossible for dirty or bacteria to get into your pores, I did tell you it was hard to describe!!
You can apply this with both your hands or a cotton pad, however, I stick to my hands as I feel you can apply it better. I pour a tiny drop onto my hands and I focus on my t zone when applying. The only problem I have encountered with this product is that when using your hands, it's easy to pour out far more than necessary and then you have to attempt to pour it back into the tiny bottle, which let's face it, never works.

You can get your hands on the Wake Up Booster in all the outlets mentioned above for €18.50 for 125 ml ( price)

Daily Energizer Cream - this, for me, is the piece de resistance of the entire range. The scent, the feeling it leaves on the skin and how little you need to apply is just amazing. It is no surprize that this
cream has won numerous awards such as 'Best Day Cream' in Elle Beauty Awards 2011. Despite the pot being a tiny 30ml, it will last ages, just like the rest of the products mentioned above, providing that your mum doesn't stick her finger in it like mine tends to! This cream is recommended for dry to normal skin and is idea for women in their 20's who like me want to start looking after their skin before it looks like an old boot! This cream is light on the skin , yet luxurious and feels amazing to the touch, I'm honestly hooked!

This cream can be purchased in the shops above for €24.25 for 30ml ( price)

And there you have it folks, an extremely wordy review! Sometimes I feel a review needs to be in depth like this one in order for you all to decide whether it will suit your skin as well as it has mine, however, if  you would like my blog to remain essay free in the future, feel free to say so!!

Have you tried any Clarins products?
What's your favourite range?
